Anni Sereni partecipa al meeting internazionale e-Mental Health 2008
Il 16 ottobre 2008, verrà presentato all'Università di Padova un nostro studio in occasione del meeting internazionale E-Mental Health 08 riguardante l'applicazione della realtà virtuale come traning riabilitativo su alcuni ospiti del Centro Servizi Anni Sereni di Scorzè (VE), che presentavano deficit cognitivi.

Multimedia Memory Training using virtual reality in mnesic impairment people living in a rest home: a controlled trial.

Abstract
Virtual Reality finds evermore useful and efficacious applications in the field of cognitive rehabilitation.
We used it in a Multimedia Memory Training (MMT) programme carried out on 3 groups with mnesic impairment people who had lived in a rest home during 2007-2008 (each group was of 6+6 random people) enrolled in 3 steps. All of the partecipants underwent a battery of clinical neuropsychological tests.
The MMT consisted in repetitions of acoustic and interactive experiences (three times a week over a period of three months) in a virtual reality immersion environment. The experiences were specifically designed to encourage attention-focusing and perceptual interaction.
The first results of this study show a selective improvement in some of the indices relating to cognitive decline in experimental groups from which we can hypothesize that our own "MMT rehabilition programme" enhances mnemonic processing in the brain of tied to a functional reorganization of synaptic contacts not yet too gravely damaged.
